Judy Sheindlin or a.k.a “Judge Judy” is a U.S Based prosecution lawyer, a former Manhattan family court judge, and today an author, television personality, and producer. For a decade now, she has been running Judge Judy, an Arbitration-based court show series which runs on daytime and has an average 10 million viewers and has earned her a nickname “Court Show Queen.”

Career Highlights

Sheindlin started off as a corporate lawyer, where she used to work for a cosmetic firm. Later she would quit and become a prosecutor in a family court where she prosecuted domestic violence, child abuse, and Juvenile crime-related cases. Due to her attitude, she was appointed to a court judge and later to a supervising judge in the family courts based in Manhattan division. While at this court, she earned a reputation as a tough judge, but she was loved by many. She retired as a judge in 1996.

Family and Personal Life

On her personal life, she was once the wife of Ronald Levy, a prosecutor in Juvenile court for 12 years, and together, they had two children before ending their marriage of 12 years in 1976. She was remarried again by Jerry Sheindlin in 1977 but divorced in 1990 then remarried him again. Currently, she lives in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
