Kelly Bensimon married the popular French Fashion photographer, Gilles Bensimon in 1997. She gave birth to daughters, Sea Louise in 1998 and Thaddeus Ann in 2000. However, the couple got divorced in 2007. On the 5th of March, 2009 Kelly was arrested on account of allegations of domestic violence and abuse against her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Stefanov.
